Holly Shogbesan began her flute studies at age 11 in her hometown St. Louis, Missouri and continued on to study at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee with Mary Louise Poor.  After receiving a BM in Music Education in 2005, Holly moved to Oakland, California where she began teaching music for organizations such as the Oakland Youth Chorus, Oakland Public Conservatory of Music, and San Francisco Arts Education Project. She currently teaches choir, band, and orchestra at Montera Middle School in Oakland.
